The Team - Jan Hartman

Board member

Jan was a US diplomat for 25 years,10 of those in Africa. She next worked with Professor Jeffrey Sachs at Columbia University’s Earth Institute on a five-year project also based in Africa. She then jumped back to work based in Barcelona, a city she also has close ties with, but she is passionate about the potential of Africa, and fell in love with the Maun Science Park project as something special, with enormous prospects for good as well as social, economic and scientific success.

Why is Maun Science Park important?

The Maun Science Park is a unique and inspiring project. It offers a new model of North/South collaboration that will create a blueprint for a symbiotic coexistence of humans, wildlife, and the environment for Africa, and potentially the rest of the world.
